Windsor Wolves U19’s Claim Victory at the 2025 Battle of the West
The Windsor Wolves U19/1 side capped off their incredible 2025 season with a standout performance at the Battle of the West tournament, held at Kellyville Park on 20–21 September.
The annual event brings together the Penrith District and Parramatta Junior Rugby League Grand Final winners to compete for the title of Best in the West.
Windsor Wolves also had U13/2’s coached by Stephen Kennedy-O’Brien play against All Saints Toongabbie Tigers. Sadly the wolves went down 24-14.
Champions of the West
In a dominant display, the Windsor Wolves U19/1s defeated the Guildford Owls 28–14, securing the title of Battle of the West Champions.
Their success reflects the hard work and unity of the entire team, led by Coach Col Murphy, who was also selected to Coach the Penrith U21s Representative Team. Joining him were Windsor players Ben Attard, Connor Potter-Jugovac, and Jeshua Maa-Nelson, along with Wolves staff Barrie Jones (Assistant Coach), Kylie Murphy (Manager), and trainers Corey Henderson and Jake Wallace.
The Penrith U21s went on to secure a 36–18 victory over Parramatta, rounding out a dominant weekend for the district.
“Battle of the West is a great opportunity to showcase the best of each district,” said Coach Murphy. “Our boys knew they had to play as a team and give their all for the full 70 minutes — and they did exactly that.”
Penrith Takes the Title
Across all divisions, Penrith claimed overall bragging rights, winning 12 games to Parramatta’s 9, cementing the district’s strength in junior rugby league.
Congratulations to the Windsor Wolves players, coaches, and families for representing the club and community with pride.
