Local Community Comes Together to Support Hawkesbury Families This Christmas

Windsor Leagues Club is proud to share the positive outcome of its 2025 Toy & Gift Voucher Christmas Drive, supporting local charity Hawkesbury Helping Hands and the vital work they do within the Hawkesbury community.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of local community members, club members, guests and staff, a number of toys and gift vouchers were donated throughout the campaign. All donated items were delivered to Hawkesbury Helping Hands last week, ensuring they could be distributed in time for Christmas.

The donations were given to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or financial hardship across the Hawkesbury, helping to bring joy, dignity and much-needed support during the festive season.

The Christmas drive called on the community to purchase unwrapped new toys or gift vouchers and drop them off at Windsor Leagues Club. The response reflected the strong community spirit that exists within the Hawkesbury, with people coming together to support those doing it tough at Christmas.

Windsor Leagues Club would also like to sincerely thank Hawkesbury Helping Hands for the incredible work they do year-round in supporting vulnerable individuals and families across the Hawkesbury. Their dedication, compassion and tireless efforts make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many, particularly during the Christmas period.

“We are incredibly grateful to our community for getting behind this initiative,” Michael Pullin CEO at Windsor Leagues Club said. “The success of this drive shows what can be achieved when we work together to support those in need. We’re proud to partner with Hawkesbury Helping Hands and to play a small part in helping make Christmas brighter for local families.”

Windsor Leagues Club remains committed to supporting local charities and giving back to the Hawkesbury community through meaningful initiatives throughout the year.

ABOUT HOMELESSNESS
Homelessness can affect anyone. People who are homeless come from all age groups and all cultural backgrounds. Homelessness includes people who are sleeping rough, as well as people staying in temporary, unstable or substandard accommodation. Many people in the homeless cycle are between homelessness and marginal housing.

Homelessness is not only about a lack of housing. The causes are complex and varied – including a shortage of affordable accommodation, domestic violence, unemployment, physical and mental illness, family breakdowns and drug and alcohol abuse.
Hawkesbury Helping Hands said “In my heart I cannot stand by and see people go hungry in the Hawkesbury, that’s all”.
